Wellington Phoenix Football Club is a New Zealand professional football club based in Wellington. Under license from Football Federation Australia, it competes in the Australian A-League. Phoenix joined the league in the 2007-08 season following its formation in March 2007. Sky Stadium (formerly Westpac Stadium), a 34,500-seat multi-purpose venue in Wellington, hosts the club's home games. Their home decor is black and yellow stripes.
