Al-Gharafa Sports Club is a multisports organization situated in Al Rayyan's Al Gharrafa neighborhood. Although it has teams for other sports, its football squad is the one that is most well-known. In order to more accurately reflect the district of Al-Gharafa, to which the club belongs, the club was officially renamed to its present form in 2004. At Thani bin Jassim Stadium, which is located in the Al Rayyan neighborhood of Al Gharafa, Al Gharafa plays its home matches. The stadium, was opened in 2003, can accommodate 27,000 people.
